Barron Claiborne shot the original Biggie Smalls portrait. I was intrigued. It is one of the most iconic images of our time. I asked if I could recreate this image with my own take on how Biggie's death affected me. I sat and was immediately overwhelmed. The tears were unexpected, so I used them to our advantage. This is a homage to everything The Notorious B.I.G. means to me and Hip Hop. *The crown used in the remake is the actual crown Biggie wore in his photo with Barron Claiborne.
